Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) in the College of Engineering at the University of North Texas! Our department started with an approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) in November 2004, to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) starting in January 2005, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) starting in September 2007 and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering starting year 2014 . The department is housed in a brand new facility in the Discovery Park where we provide state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms.

We introduce innovations into our design- and project-based educational programs with the help of partners from the local industry. We also incorporate cognitive methods in learning and appropriate business skills in the program. The hands-on design- and project-based education we offer with the help of our industrial adjuncts empower our students to embark on a challenging career in high-tech industry when they graduate. The learning-to-learn approach we use for fostering student-centered learning, enables our students with the necessary skills for life-long learning. We have started our graduate program in September 2007 with an initial enrollment of 26 students. Graduate students who aspire to be researchers in academia or industry can pursue research topics by working with one of our faculty members. Our faculty conduct state-of-the-art research in exciting areas and mentor undergraduate and graduate students to embark on careers in industry and academia.

I invite you to explore this web site full of information about the department.
